APOLLO 11 LUNAR MODULE CONTRACTOR'S MODEL IN THE ORIGINAL BOX.Mixed materials, Topping Models for Grumman, 1969, 10 1/2 inch diameter base, model approximately 6 1/2 inches tall, base with Grumman and NASA logos and "LUNAR MODULE," with original box. A fine example.
Model of the Lunar Module (LM) made from injected-molded plastic for the Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation (GAEC) of Bethpage, Long Island, NY. GAEC was the prime NASA contractor for the Lunar Module (LM). The model stands 6 1/2 inches tall with four landing legs approximately 8 inches apart. The upper Ascent Stage is detachable from the lower Descent Stage. The complete model is removable from circular base. The model is finest example we have seen and was clearly stored in the original box since it was produced in 1969.
