Die Bücher V.-VII. galten als verloren, bis Borelli eine arabische Handschrift von Abu 'l-Fath al-Isfahani, die auf einer Übersetzung von Thabit ibn Qurra beruht, in der Bibliotheca Medici wiederauffand und neu herausgab. Ein achtes Buch blieb verschollen. Borellis Ausgabe enthält zudem die erste Ausgabe des Archimedes zugeschriebenen "Buch der Lemmata" (Assumptorum liber), ebenfalls nach einer arabischen Übersetzung von Thabit ibn Qurra. - Unbeschnittenes, sehr breitrandiges Exemplar, stellenweise mit Wasserrand, sonst nur sehr gering stockfleckig, S. 312 und 352 1 Zeile alt mit Korrekturstreifen überklebt. First edition of the books V-VII of the Conic Section, till then supposed to have been lost. They contain Apollonius' important discoveries, which earned him a place next to Euclid and Archimedes. - Uncut large paper copy, waterstaining in places, faint foxing, little correction slip pasted over 1 line of text p. 312 and 352.
