Davis, a lawyer, mining investor, and historian, served for some time as a judge in Amador County, California. He was the author of California: Romantic and Resourceful. The correspondence includes letters to and from J. Thomas Boylson regarding mines and finance; to his wife regarding family matters; to his son; etc. Lot Amendments Condition: Very good or better.
