Folding engraved frontispiece plan, 2 plates and one hand-coloured map (lacking half title, plan with clean tear, outer margin of one plate cropped, lightly browned throughout, some spotting). Contemporary boards with vellum tips (rebacked, new endpapers, sides quite rubbed). Provenance : W.H. Willis (bookplate). FIRST EDITION.

Bellamy, 1796. 8° (205 x 129mm.) Half title, vignette on title (half title with stain in upper margin, first and last few leaves a little soiled, a few stains towards the end). Early 20th-century wrappers. Several editions of this work were published in the same year. With 3 other works on Brighton, including The Stranger's Guide in Brighton: being a complete companion to that fashionable watering place (Brighton, c. 1844) and Leppard and Co's Brighton and Hove Directory. 1843 (Brighton, 1844, revised edition).
