Half and fly-titles. (Variable spotting, mainly light, some light offsetting, volume II half-title misbound before, and not after, the title, half-titles for volumes II-IV lacking, volume IV lacking final blank leaves P7-8.) 20th-century crimson crushed morocco gilt by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, double gilt fillet borders on covers, board edges and turn-ins gilt, the spines gilt in 6 compartments divided by raised bands, titled in gilt in 2, the others decorated with central gilt tools within gilt frames with gilt foliate corner-pieces, gilt edges. Provenance : ?C.H. Suffield (partially erased marginal inscriptions on half-titles and titles). FIRST EDITIONS OF BOTH WORKS. A FINELY-BOUND COPY.
