Letter to Sir Joseph Banks from the Navy Office, signed by commissioners Gambier, Bouverie and Middleton, agreeing with his request that the salaries be "allowed to Mr. Brown and Mr. Brauer, who went out in His Majesty's Sloop Investigator, may be continued", that of Brown till the end of the year and that of Brauer until the end of 1811, 2 pages, integral blank, Britannia watermark dated 1809, a few light old stains, folio, Navy Office, 17 May 1810; together with a partly autograph attestation by Banks in favour of Robert Brown ("...Mr Robert Brown has been usefully and diligently employed in arranging and describing the Collection of Natural History brought by him from New South Wales; and... he has conform'd himself to the instructions I have given him... He has undertaken to finish the work he has undertaken in such manner as to enable me to deposit in such manner as the Lords of the Admiralty shall Direct a Compleat Collection of the Plants collected by him in his Late Voyage..."), one page, 4to
