Nous avons depuis peu de jours une nouvelle relation de Moscovie faite par un nomme Ysbrandt qui a eté Ambassadeur du grand Duc de Moscovie à la Chine. On a aussi publié les memoires d'un M. Bayle, who had reconverted to protestantism in 1670, moved to Rotterdam when the protestant academy of Sedan closed. From 1693 he was entirely occupied with scholarly work of which the Dictionnaire historique et critique (1697) was his greatest achievement. His correspondent Valhebert was the librarian to the Abbé Bignon (later the director of Louis XIV's Bibliothèque Royale) and had edited the Dictionnaire of 1694. He was a correspondent of Foucault and the Abbé Ménage. Paul Colomiès (1638-1692) whose library Bayle mentions was librarian to the archbishops of Canterbury. (2)
