BEARDSLEY, Aubrey [and others]. The Yellow Book, an Illustrated Quarterly , London: Elkin Mathews and John Lane, 1894-97. 13 volumes, 8, numerous illustrations by Aubrey Beardsley and others (lacking one Beardsley illustration, one illustration in vol. 2 detached, 2 leaves torn without loss in vol. I, occasional spotting, endpaper torn in vol. V), original yellow pictorial cloth, cover illustrations by Beardsley (faint stains to spines of vols. I, IV, VIII, IX and XII, spines of vols. VI and XI slightly rubbed). The magazine was edited by Henry Harland with Aubrey Beardsley as Art Editor until his dismissal in June 1895 due to his past association with Oscar Wilde. Contributing artists included Joseph Pennell Laurence Housman Robert Anning Bell and Ethel Reed Literary contributions were by Henry James Max Beerbohm Edmund Gosse, Ella D'Arcy, Charles Robinson Arthur Symons and others.
