Provenance : Royal Society of Edinburgh (cropped inscription on title-page: "To the Royal Medical Soc[iety] Edinb[urgh]"). FIRST PRINTING OF ONE OF THE EARLIEST AMERICAN CONTRIBUTIONS TO PEDIATRICS. Beardsley's account was "the first American case report on congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis" (Garrison-Morton). This was the only volume published of Cases and observations by the Medial Society of New Haven County , the first American medical periodical. Austin 1258; Garrison-Morton 3426; Norman 149.
