Collation : A-K 4 . 35 leaves (of 40, lacking D1 and I 4 ). Woodcut title in gothic and italic lettering within border containing scenes from Exodus, and 70 (of 80) woodcut illustrations. 19th-century German quarter roan (some light rubbing). Provenance : A. Lanna (bookplate); Santorelli sale, Leipzig (pencil note); acquired from Child's, 1980. Second edition, with the place and printer on the title-page, containing the same woodcuts as the first edition published in Frankfurt by Egenolph in 1533. The oblong woodcuts, mostly 50 x 70 mm, illustrate the Old Testament. Each cut is accompanied by a Biblical quotation in German. The last two pages contain four woodcuts depicting Saint Luke, Saint John, David and Saint Paul.
