Biefield, London, No. 8882, movement circa 1700, later case stamped with London date letter for 1766 Gilt-finished verge movement, chain fusée, finely pierced and engraved scroll balance cock and foot, chased gilt dial, Roman numerals, fleur-de-lys half-hour divisions, outer Arabic five minute divisions, steel beetle and poker hands, window for date, later plain inner case, turning pendant, outer chased and engraved repoussé case with a classical scene in high relief, inner case stamped with casemaker's initials IH, dial and movement signed 49 mm. diam.
