Louise Élisabeth d'Orléans was one of the seven daughters of Philippe II, Duke of Orléans. Before marriage, she was she was known as Mademoiselle de Montpensier. When she married the Infante Louis, she became Princess of Asturias, and when he ascended to the throne upon the abdication of Philip V, she was briefly Queen of Spain. However, seven months later, he died of smallpox, and ultimately she returned to the French court. C
