Collation: s8; a 8 b-y 8 . 8 . 4 a 8 A-C 8 (r title, v blank, r table, v-8v blank; a1r Sermones mediocres , A6r De septem causis institutionis eucharistie , A8v De passione domini , C6r colophon, C6v-8v blank). 188 leaves, a1-C6 foliated 1-178 in roman numerals. 35 lines and headline, double columns. Types: 1:160G (title, head-lines, first lines of sermons), 5:80G(text). Five-, four- and three-line initial spaces, with printed guide-letters. Rubricated with red Lombard initials, capital strokes, paragraph signs and underlines. (A few minor smudges.) Binding : contemporary blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards by Kyriss shop 35, Weissenau Prämonstratenser: the covers framed with quadruple fillets flanking a roll of scrolling foliage (Kyriss 5), the central panel divided by triple fillets into four triangular compartments, each compartment with one impression of an eagle from a set of evangelist symbols ( Schwenke-Sammlung Evangelisten-Symbole 39) and several impressions of a cross-hatched quatrefoil ( Schwenke-Sammlung Viereck 34=Kyriss 3); one clasp, red leather index tabs, spine linings cut from a small-format vellum manuscript missal or breviary (minor wear). Provenance : occasional contemporary marginalia, some in the hand of the rubricator -- HILPRAND BRANDENBURG (d. 1514): his hand-colored woodcut bookplate, contemporary Buxheim inscription recording his donation ( Liber Cartusiensium in Buchhaim [sic] prope Memmingen proveniens a confratre nostro domino Hilprando Brandenburg de Bibraco, donato sacerdote, continens Sermones Bonaventure de tempore mediocres, etiam de Eucharistia et Christi passione.
