Autograph manuscript of a ballad "Rinaldo Takes to the Highway," comprising eight stanzas of eight lines each, with numerous deletions, emendations and revisions, n.d. 8 pages, 8vo, written on the rectos and versos of 4 leaves, each leaf neatly inlaid to a larger sheet, some age-toning, bound in red morocco gilt, t.e.g., joints and corners worn. A ballad, the first stanza commencing: "One day as with Rinaldo Oliver Did play at chess as sometimes was his use..." Apparently unpublished, not traced in Collie and Fraser, George Borrow A Bibliographical Study . Bookplate of Mary Pinkerton Carlisle. Autograph manuscripts by Borrow are quite rare.
