.44-40 caliber, 7.5" barrel, S/N 123BB. Ivory grips with Colt custom shop medallions, left grip scrimshawed with bust and brand of Bill Cody, silver-plated barrel, frame, triggerguard and backstrap, gold-plated cylinder, ejector tube, ejector rod and head, base pin, hammer and trigger, blue screws. "C" engraved by A. A. White engravers, shipped to Buffalo Bill Museum, Cody Wyoming on Feb. 22, 1982 in custom built embossed leather case with French-style fitted velvet interior with inscription on top "BUFFALO BILL HISTORICAL CENTER, WINCHESTER MUSEUM, 1 of 250 COLT FRONTIER REVOLVERS." Standard barrel markings on top. Cody's date of birth and death in place of patent dates on the frame along with the rampant colt trademark. Winchester trademark horse and rider on left side of barrel with the inscription "Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Winchester museum, 1 of 250". Backstrap with "W. F. Cody" signature; buffalo head engraved on left side of frame. All information confirmed by included Colt historical letter. Condition: This gun remains in "new old stock." Scarcely offered for sale.
