A theoretical conversation between the Futurist painter Burliuk, representing the Russian avant-garde; and Alexandre Benois and Ilya Repin, the old guard. His brother Nikolai Burliuk provides the second essay. Despite his all too short life and his position of being overshadowed by his brother David “The Father of the Futurists,” Nikolai Burliuk managed to contribute to several early important publications, including Sadok sudei [A Trap for Judges], Dokhlaia luna [The Croaked Moon] and Zatychka.
