Beschreibung:

Colt produced 10,000 Model 1911 A1 Models for Argentina in 1927-28. They are simply a Colt 1911 A1 Commercial made in 1927 that had special markings for that country and tagged the Model 1927. This is the earliest example we are aware of and the slide stamps on the right side are entirely different than those normally seen and is the first and only of this type we have seen. The slide is stamped with Argentine crest (all are so stamped) but followed by a simply one line stamp "COLT CAL.45 MOD. 1927" The top of slide ahead of sight reads "No 9" This number is also stamped behind arched mainspring housing. Barrel has no serial number and is simply stamped "R" and "RA". The left side of frame has standard 1927 era two line Colt's patent info with standing pony. The balance of gun is standard pre-war A1 commercial featuring checkered arched mainspring housing, short checkered trigger, checkered slide stop and safety, checkered wide spur hammer, Type II rear sight with U notch and beveled side. The blue finish is standard Colt pre-war commercial blue and sports fully checkered walnut grips. CONDITION: Pistol retains approximately 75% even blue with edge wear and some minor age spotting. It is unknown when Colt switched to the commonly found slide markings but it must have been an early transition as this is the only marking of this type we have seen while searching. If you collect Colt Model 1911 variations, this is one that we are confident most collectors do not have. Name Value Accessories Barrel Length 5" Caliber/Bore .45 ACP FFL Status Curio & Relic Manufacturer Colt Model 1927 Paperwork Serial Number 9
