Late production Springfield Armory Model 1898 Krag bolt action rifle. Made last year of production, 1904. This gun was cut down into a carbine at some point. Standard markings on the left side of the receiver. Pedestal blade front sight and model 1901 rear sight adjustable to 2,000 yards. Faint cartouche on the left side of the stock. Original blued finish is turning to a brown patina in most areas. Stock has a light oil finish. Smooth metal butt plate with trap door. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with brown patina forming in most areas. Stock has minor dings and scratches. Bore is frosted with very good overall rifling. Mechanically fine.
