Underwood/Winchester "Line Out" M1 carbine semi automatic rifle with box. Made 1944 by Underwood before being shipped to Winchester and having "UNDERWOOD" logo lined out and a Winchester serial number added, with the letters "AW" being added as well. Undated, "W" marked barrel with Winchester firing proof. Winchester marked trigger group, stock lug, hammer, bolt (round), rear sight (type III milled), band/bayonet lug, front sight and slide. All metal parts retain their parkerized finish. Sanded stock with "crossed cannons" cartouche on the right side. No other visible cartouches. Includes two 15 round magazines taped together "jungle style". One magazine is marked "U" for Union Hardware, while the other has no visible mark. Also included is an M4 M1 carbine bayonet with scabbard, canvas barrel sleeve for a 1919 light machine gun and an "NRA" marked shipping box. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its arsenal finish with light handling marks. Wood is excellent with a few handling marks and scratches. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Mechanically excellent. Magazines are very good. Bayonet, sleeve and box are excellent. Excellent example of a possibly unissued Winchester correct M1 carbine.
