Cabinet card portrait of William S. Hart with chaps and gloves, sitting on posing prop Author: Sarony, Napoleon Place: New York, NY Publisher: Napoleon Sarony Date: Ca. 1890-1900? Description: Cabinet card 6⅜x4¼", Sarony, Fifth Avenue, New York imprinted along bottom edge. Photograph signed in blue ink by Hart in lower left hand corner. William S. Hart (1870-1946) began acting onstage in New York, going on to make his name as a Shakespearean actor on Broadway. By his 30s, he was a highly popular stage performer, particularly in western plays. He had spent his youth traveling around the country with his father, an itinerant laborer. Hart was 44 when he starred in his first film in 1914. Lot Amendments Condition: Small pinhole at top and bottom of card and portion of address torn away not affecting image; very good or better. Lots sold without reserve are sold “as Is” and are not returnable under any circumstances. The minimum shipping and handling per invoice is $20 for shipments to the US and $30 for shipments outside the US please consider this when determining your bid amount Item number: 323087
