Beschreibung:

6.5x55mm Swedish. 29" barrel length. SN: 1322-2. Bolt action M/41 sniper variant of an 1896 Long Rifle with Swedish AGA 3x65 scope that is with front lens cover and rubber eye piece. Blued metal finish. Hardwood stock has a plain straight grip and forearm with single hand grooves to both sides and handguard. Item features a folding tangent rear sight and stacked blade front sight. Markings include "CARL GUSTAFS STADS/GEVARSFAKTORI/1903" to top of receiver ring and "1322-2" to left side of receiver ring. Scope is marked "No. 814" followed by "m/42", "AGA", and "3x65" to sight adjustment ring. Scope mount is marked "235/1322" to left side. Bolt release is marked "339". Both bolt knob and bolt are marked "973". Forend bayonet lug and middle barrel band are both marked "{crown}/235" to left side. Buttplate is marked "{crown}/673" on heel. Right side of buttstock is fixed with a brass medallion that reads "L/I.7" above "No.10a/No.578". Item appears to be in late-WWII configuration featuring the AGA scope and all six locking screws present on scope mount. Included is a Swedish M1896 bayonet with scabbard and frog, as well as cleaning rod. Bayonet has "070" and "EB{anchor}AB" Eskilstuna Jernmanufactur AB manufacturer marks. Bayonet likely paired up with rifle at some point. Built from existing Mauser Model 1896 rifles in Swedish stock, M/41 sniper rifle developments took place from about 1941-1943 and initially featured German AJACK scopes. However, after sending about 4,000 telescopic scopes to Sweden, deteriorating relations with Germany forced the Swedish military to use their own domestically made AGA scopes toward the end of the war. The M/41 rifles saw little use during WWII, and in 1955 most of these sniper variants were refurbished with a dial rear sight, peened screws, and other improvements to be later designated as the M/1941B. M/41 models are typically seen with these 1955 post-war modifications and AJACK scopes. This item still has the original AGA scope, tangent rear sight, and locking screw scope mount configuration. Condition: Good to very good. Bore is bright. Finish is good overall with scattered scratches and light losses. Wood stock is in great condition with some wear to finish on both sides of buttstock. Scope is clear. Locking screws on scope mount possibly disassembled at some point considering one of the smaller locking screws shows some tool marks. Action is functional.
