Fletcher ( New Aldine Studies ) has argued that the date is 'new style', i.e. January 1502, which makes it among the earliest books printed in Aldus's innovative series of libri portatiles , works of Greek and Latin classics and Italian poetry printed in octavo-format with Griffo's italic types.
