This work is also a travel book where there are descriptions of Mount Sinai, India, Syria, Crete, Macedonia, Cyprus and Corsica ... These stories circulated in manuscript at the court of Francis I and were then translated by Francois d'Assay. Dedicated to Lucrezia Borgia, the work is modeled on Boccaccio's themes arising mainly from the Amorosa vision and Filocolo, but both the narrative and the use of language, is directly connected to the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili.
