With plates and text illustrations by Herbert Granville Fell 4to, contemporary "Vellucent" Art Nouveau binding designed by Fell of transparent vellum over painted paper with gilding on the vellum, covers and spine fully painted in blue marbeling, gilt fillet, upper cover with a design of a pair of angels with uplifted arms bearing aloft a swag with the title "The Song of Songs," the angels divided by a large green plant with its roots and leaves dramatically intertwined and with two pink blooms at the base, the angels' halos in mother-of-pearl surrounded by gilt circle, lower cover with floral design of a rose and blue bells, the design heightened with gilt dots, smooth spine with painted panel, lettered longitudinally with the title; turn-ins gilt, marbled endpapers, t.e.g., stamp-signed by CEDRIC CHIVERS OF BATH on lower turn-in; quarter morocco folding case.
