Lot of 3 C.E. Watkins views of locomotives, trains and probably his photo wagon. Includes #167 "Emigrant Gap looking East, Yuba Mounains in the distance" with a locomotive and train in the mid foreground with what appears to be Watkins' photo wagon strapped to one of the flat cars; #169 "Valley North Fork of Yuba above Emigrant Gap. Old Man Mountain." Watkins has stood on the tender and photographed a close view of the crew in the cab of the locomotive and finally #170 "Cement Ridge, Old Man Mountain in distance." Watkins' has positioned himself atop the second box car to make this view looking forward with a man placed on the back of the tender to give perspective. Red-orange mounts. Provenance: The Ed Burchard Stereoview Collection Condition: Overall bright and clear. Some rubbing of the mount corners of last two & especially the upper right corner of #170. Burchard has penned on verso of #167 "Possibly Watkin's Wagon."
