Date: 1899 Description: 7x4¾, bound in decorative diced dark purple-brown calf, ruled in gilt, gilt vignettes on front and rear cover corners, spine tooled and lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt; fore-edge painting of "The Acropolis at Athens." "New Impression." Clean and sharp fore-edge painting detailing the Acropolis with only a few other old structures tucked within the rolling green hills and at the base, a group of people (two on horses) in the fore-ground. Lot Amendments Condition: Spine sunned, other light wear; bookplates of Edward Thomas King and Josephus Wood (but signed by B.T. Hebert); very good. Item number: 167641
