Provenance: Acquired directly from Martha Burchfield, the artist's daughter, in the early 1970s, to the current owner by family descent. N.B. Accompanied by two framed letters, one to Charles Burchfield signed by Dwight D. Eisenhower and dated November 8, 1956, the other a citation to Mrs. Bertha Burchfield on the first anniversary of the establishment of the Charles Burchfield Center in Buffalo, signed by Lyndon Johnson and dated November 14, 1967.
