MANUSCRIT ORIGINAL DE LA PARTITION ET ORCHESTRATION COMPLETE DE LA BANDE ORIGINALE DU FILM «UN ROI A NEW YORK» (Une trentaine de feuillets recto ou recto/verso). Daté de juillet 1957. Musique Charlie Chaplin/Orchestration et arrangements de Wal-Berg. Charlie Chaplin était un grand compositeur, mais n'écrivait, ni ne jouait de la musique. Son génie créatif lui dictait naturellement les mélodies de ses films. En 1957, il réalisait son avant-dernier film « Un roi à New York » et en inventa la musique auparavant. Le compositeur et chef d'orchestre, Wal-Berg (Voldemar Rosenberg, 1910-1994), fut chargé de co-écrire avec Chaplin partitions et orchestrations du thème musical du film. En parallèle, et à la demande de Chaplin, un essai en version chantée en français et sous le titre de « Mandoline Amoureuse », (paroles d'Eddy Marnay) fut interprétée en quelques mois avant la sortie du film (fin 1956: «Claveau Chante Chaplin» disque Pathé-Marconi 45 EG 305M). En avant première, Charlie Chaplin se déplaçait à Paris pour entendre cette interprétation d'André Claveau qu'il comparait à Bing Crosby. Il est à noter que les orchestrations de la bande originale du film et de la chanson en français sont pratiquement identiques. Mais la version chantée est un peu plus ancienne. Est proposée en vente la partition complète et originale, (chanson et bande originale) co-écrite par Chaplin et Wal-Berg, et l'orchestration par instrument de la totalité de l'orchestre (rédigée en juin et juillet 1957). Cette partition complète, détient I'ADN de Chaplin (qui supervisa toute la mélodie bien évidemment). L'ensemble des document est paraphé ou signé de la main de Wal- Berg, sur la partition, et de tout le manuscrit musical au crayon et stylo. Music Charlie Chaplin/Orchestration and arranging Wal-Berg. Charlie Chaplin was a famous composer, but he did not write nor play music. His creativity naturally dictated him what to create for his movies. In 1957, he directed his penultimate movie A King in New York and thought about the soundtrack. Composer and conductor Wal-Berg (Voldemar Rosenberg, 1910-1994) was asked to co-write with Chaplin sheet musics and orchestrations for the movie's musical theme. Meanwhile, a test in French for this song by André Claveau known by the title of Mandoline Amoureuse (lyrics by Eddy Marnay) was interpreted a few months prior to the movie's release. Chaplin went to Paris to hear Claveau who he used to compare to Bing Crosby. Both the original soundtrack orchestrations and the french version are practically identicals, however the sang version is a bit older. Is put up to sale the original and complete sheet music (song and original soundtrack), cowritten by Chaplin and Wal-Berg, and the orchestration by all the instruments (written in June and July 1957). This sheet music bears Chaplin's D.N.A. (who supervised the melody of course), and Marnay's and Claveau's participation. All the documents are initialled or signed by Wal-Berg.
