Château Cheval-Blanc--Millésime/Vintage 1997 Saint-Emilion, 1er grand cru classé (A) Note de dégustation: Je suis complètement séduit par les vins de Cheval Blanc. (...) Comme d'habitude, il n'a pas une couleur intense pour un 1er cru de Médoc ; un nez légèrement vanillé et de framboise ; étonnamment suave, au bon fruit, extrait et tannins doux. (...) Ma meilleure note à la dégustation à l'aveugle de Rodenstock en mars 2001, un point au-dessus de la moyenne : intensité, stylé, bonne longueur. Sucré, délicieux. Un délice à boire en soi. Nov 2001 ***** M.B. Tasting note: I am totally seduced by the wines of Cheval Blanc. (...) As usual, not as deeply coloured as the first growth Medocs; slightly vanillin and raspberry nose; surprisingly sweet, with good fruit, extract and soft tannin. (...) My highest mark at Rodenstock's blind tasting, March 2001, one point above the average: intenisty, stylish, good length. Sweet, delicious. A delight to drink by itself.
