Château Latour--Vintage 1990
12 bottles per lot
The Magnificent Collection of Mr. Karl Chen Dedicated connoisseurs of fine wines, Mr. and Mrs. Chen regard their collection as a work of art. Now based in London, the Taiwanese couple are always ready to share their collection with friends and winemakers from around the world. We are fortunate that they have agreed to share a portion of it with our clients this fall. This monumental collection features the finest from Chablis, the Côte d'Or, the Rhône, Bordeaux and beyond, featuring the widest possible range of aromas and flavors. Among the most notable highlights of this offering are top vintages of La Tache, Henri Jayer and DRC Montrachet. Every wine lover, from the debutante to the long-time connoisseur will find bottled treasure in this wonderful collection. BORDEAUX This bordeaux collection focused on the best châteaux and the wonderful 2005 vintage. 2005 provided textbook growing conditions from start to finish, with very sunny conditions that were warm but not hot. The year was particular both in the very large number of hours of sunshine but also by the very dry conditions that produced tiny berries and very concentrated fruit character. Because of the lack of excessive heat, the harvest could be timed for optimal ripeness of tannin, and it began in the 2nd week of September and continued on well into October. The result was well-colored wines of ripeness and structure but without bitterness.CC Château Latour--Vintage 1990 Pauillac, 1er cru classé. Château-bottled Levels: nine into neck, three bottom neck; one bin soiled label, one nicked label, other pristine appearance In original wooden case "Although there was some bottle variation, the best of the 1990 Latour at a recent tasting was definitely among the wines of the night, with a forward, lovely blackberry/currant fruit character on the initial attack, a very dense, compact and structure on the palate that hints at years of development to come. The texture was rich, almost viscous, and the finish was quite long. A great success." CC, February 2010 12 bottles per lot
