Beschreibung:

Chateau Petrus 1989 Chateau Petrus 1989 Pomerol, Cru Exceptionnel u. bn, slightly scuffed, nicked, partially torn and missing label, slight sign of seepage The heat came earlier in 1989 than in 1990, which gives that exotic scent which is inimitable Petrus. Glorious leather and liquorice taste. Just so "oriental". Landmark Petrus. Limitless dimension. A real chocolate flavour to it. This has all the mystery of Petrus forged in exceptional climatic conditions. Flavours of venison and violets. In 2011, that marvellous roasted raisins and liquorice nose that draws you in and seduces you. So utterly sweet, luscious and embracing. Serena Sutcliffe, MW. Lot 140 1 imperial - 6 liter (owc) per lot: USD 16000-22500 The very word Petrus creates a "frisson" unlike any other wine name - and the liquid in the glass induces a dream-like silence as its enormous, almost roasted flavour envelops the palate. The sheer exoticism of this revered vineyard, where clay combines with Merlot to make something wildly heady, needs to be experienced by everyone once in their life (preferably many more times!). Petrus does not taste like other Bordeaux - it is not "classic" but stupendously original, full of oriental spice box flavours which unfold endlessly. A one-off wine that inhabits a world of its own and, of course, a rarity due to its small (11.4 hectare) size. Serena Sutcliffe, MW. Quantity: 1
