Chateau Petrus 1995 Chateau Petrus 1995 Pomerol, Cru Exceptionnel Lot 5232: 2 nicked labels, 1 slightly wine stained label,1 import label partially overlaps bottom of main label Lot 5233: 2 slightly scuffed labels, 4 import labels partially overlap main labels This was the driest year since 1945, except for 1961. We used to say it was a bit 'reined in', a touch 'Protestant' even. Well, at 14 years old and at a dinner in Hong Kong, it was decidedly 'Catholic' and not a bit inhibited! Intense, warm leaves nose, the 'maquis', or scented, wild undergrowth, in full bloom. Immensely tempting. Great red fruit taste, brimming over with health and vivacity. Lovely silky finish. A superb mouthful and signature Petrus, hardly surprising in an excellent year for Merlot. SS. Lot 5234 1 imperial - 6 liter (owc) per lot: HKD 95000-140000 per lot: USD 12000-18000 A very good vintage throughout Bordeaux, with particularly beautiful Merlots. If I had to pick one area where the wines were simply stunning it would be Pessac-Leognan, but they are very attractive wherever you roam in the region. It was the perfect weather from 20 September until October that gave the desired ripeness, which shows beautifully in St.Emilion and Pomerol. SS. Quantity: 1
