The surface of the painting has suffered from a general abrasion, and while the design of the composition remains strong and charming, there has been more than one campaign of restoration to address damages throughout. There are some scattered areas of lifting, which has also been addressed in past restorations. Scattered losses are visible, including along the lower edge and above the head of God the Father. UV light reveals scattered numerous retouches throughout the composition, including all the figures. Despite all of this, the painting preserves its strong composition, and there are areas of charm, such as in the angels behind God the Father and in the Holy Spirit in Glory above, showing that this picture was rather once an impressive composition. Offered in a modern gold painted tabernacle style frame. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale. The
