Beschreibung:

Lot of 3, including ninth plate tintype of a corporal wearing a Zouave-style cap, with a partially visible Colt Army revolver tucked in his belt, the chevrons, piping, and buttons on his jacket highlighted in gold. He appears to be missing one eye, possibly a result of being wounded in action. Housed in full, pressed paper case with faint pencil inscription, which is difficult to discern but appears to mention "Peter Colerick 1860." HDS does not list a soldier by this name; ninth plate ruby ambrotype of a soldier sporting a long beard, wearing a kepi and jacket tinted blue. Housed in full thermoplastic "Blind Beggar" case (Krainik-388); uncased sixth plate tintype of a mustached private wearing a kepi, his cheeks lightly tinted pink, matted under glass. Condition: Zouave tintype with some discoloration along right and left portions of plate; wear to case, with hinge reinforced, tear to interior velvet lining. Ninth plate ruby ambrotype, clarity very fine, light tarnish along perimeter; chips in case, at edges/corners. Sixth plate tintype with light surface wear along perimeter where plate meets mat (this was likely under different mat at one time).
