COLLECTION OF COSTUME DESIGN SKETCHES BY TRAVIS BANTON Circa 1930s A group of seven watercolor and pencil on paper costume sketches of actresses from various films created by early Hollywood designer, Travis Banton All rendered in his signature style showing females with heart-shaped faces and almond-shaped eyes, the drawings include one of Claudette Colbert in a pink negliee from an unknown production, one of Gladys Swarthout in a navy blue gown from an unknown production, one of Harriet Hilliard (later known as Ozzie's wife, Harriet Nelson) possibly from "Cocoanut Grove" (Paramount, 1938) and four others of women attired in 1930s or period costumes. Most have pencilled notations, initialled OKs and date stamps on the front or back. 23 inches x 14 inches (7)
