Group contains four sixth plate daguerreotypes, ten ninth plate daguerreotypes, two sixth plate ambrotypes, four ninth plate ambrotypes, two sixth plate tintypes, and two ninth plate tintypes, the majority of which are housed in full thermoplastic cases with geometric designs. Figural examples include U.S.S. Monitor [1-58], Rebekah at the Well [1-85], Night with Children [1-142], and Day, Aurora 1 [1-143]. Among the highlights are portraits of an elegant woman wearing gold jewelry and a dress with stylized, fan-shaped buttons, paired with a bearded man in a patterned vest; an older woman holding a quarter plate cased image, displayed alongside a man with sideburns [1-143]; and a close-format portrait of a man in three-quarter view paired with a woman resting her face lightly in her hand.
