London: J. Holford, 1683. First English edition. Jan Commelin, Dutch botanist, merchant and druggist, was the uncle of Caspar Commelin; he was key to the development of Hortus Medicus (later Hortus Botanicus), then a new botanic garden in Amsterdam. 8vo (180 x 110 mm). (A few pale spots, a few leaves with minor worming in lower margin.) Contemporary sprinkled calf (rebacked). Provenance : James Hamilton (early ownership signature on title-page).
