This $500 loan was approved by the Confederate Congress on May 1, 1861 and was to yield 8% interest. The certificate is signed by Robert Taylor (1816-1877), Confederate Register of the Treasury. Folio (326 x 316 mm). The maturity date of these treasury notes is September 1, 1871. Beautifully matted and framed with engraved plaque (glass is not present).
