Beschreibung:

Coronelli V. M., "Memoires geographiques et historiques du Royaume de la Moree, Negrepont et des places maritimes jusque a Thessalonique", Amsterdam, Wolfgang, 1686. First edition printed in the Netherlands (in French), the same year with the original in Italian. 8vo, 16x10cm, pp. [2] 232p. and the 42 fine engraved plates, depicting splendid views and maps across Greece. Complete. Title with old erased inscription. Full contemporary leather, spine richly gilt, head of spine very slightly rubbed, one plate teared in the middlefold, one other with small marginal tear, otherwise fine. Interior clean and bright. A fine copy. Blackmer praised this edition. According to him, it was a scarce edition with a new translation, directly from the Italian, it had appeared only in octavo and its newly drawn plates are slight different than theses of the other editions (several engraved directly from drawings of Dutch engineers in the Venetian army). RARE. Blackmer 407, Not in Atabey this edition.
