COUPE EN JADE CELADON ET ROUILLE, GUI CHINE, FIN DE LA DYNASTIE MING, XVIIEME SIECLE The cup is well carved after an archaic bronze form with a pair of elaborate handles formed by horned dragon heads. The neck is incised with stylized kui dragons, and the rounded sides are is carved in relief with archaistic bosses centred on a notched flange below a mythical animal mask. The stone is of an even celadon tone with some cloudy areas and minor russet inclusions. 7½ in. (19 cm.) wide
