Woodcut device on title, 2 full-page woodcut portraits of Kings Sigismund I and II of Poland. 19th-century morocco over oak boards, elaborately tooled and painted to imitate a 16th-century design, probably by Louis Hagué, with a strapwork scroll design, around a central sunk panel plaquette portrait of Henri II on each side, four metal bosses on each side, flat spine with matching design, metal clasps and catches, edges gilt and gauffered with painted interlace design (some drying and flaking to paint).
