With the author's presentation inscription to Friedrich Wilhelm August Argelander, director of the observatory at Bonn, Germany, on a clipped portion of the original wrapper, which is affixed to the front free endpaper. Also, the bookplate of C.H.F. Peters, director of the observatory at Hamilton College, Clinton, N.Y., and labels of Hamilton College Library (gift of Elihu Root) to front pastedown, with withdrawn rubberstamps; old paper shelf label on spine.
