Folding table (some occasional light off-setting and fading, light browing throughout with some spotting). 19th-century green straight-grained morocco gilt by Rivière, gilt edges (lower board scuffed, extremities rubbed). Provenance : "T. R." (initials on title). FIRST EDITION of Defoe's celebrated collection of reports and anecdotes concerning the 'Great Storm' of 1703, one of the most destructive ever recorded across the British Isles. It wrought the total destruction of the first Eddyston lighthouse, along with its creator, Henry Winstanley Moore 81.
