Halle (S.), Waisenhaus, (II) - (I) Obl. 8vo: [8]-(= 369)-[23], [12]-366-6 pp. (sl. toned). Contemp. blind-ruled leather (warping, sl. worn), spine with 3 raised bands (joints split, tail def.), a.e.g., decorative endpapers. Good copy. Very rare later edition (1st of the "Golden treasury for the children of God", by the German Pietist theologian and songwriter Bogatzky (1690-1774), containing daily readings, prayers, and hymns, for each day of the year. The immensely popular book was owned by most Lutheran and Mennonite families of the 18th-19th c. Title printed in red & black. Printed in Gothic. Ref.
