Disraeli (Benjamin, 1804-1881), British Prime Minister 1868, 1874-80. Autograph Letter Signed, ‘B Disraeli’, Whitehall Gardens, London, 27 November 1875, to James Redfoord Bulwer and marked ‘Private’, informing his correspondent that he regrets to ‘have found it out of my power to meet your wishes’, although adding, ‘I should feel gratified if, on a future occasion, I should be more fortunate’, one slight ink blot to the initial ‘D’ of signature, small split to right margin not affecting text, 2 pages with blank integral leaf, 8vo, together with the original envelope (some tears and areas of paper loss to the upper edge), hand addressed by Disraeli and signed by him to the lower left corner, black wax seal to the verso (Qty: 1) James Redfoord Bulwer (1820-1899), British lawyer & politician, who also played first-class cricket for Cambridge University Cricket Club, and Marylebone Cricket Club, 1841-45.
