Contemporary half-calf, Lobanov-Rostovskii's crowned cipher in gilt on the spine (joints starting, spine heavily worn). Provenance : Prince Aleksei Borisovich Lobanov-Rostovskii (bookplate, binding) -- Nicholas II (bookplate) -- 'Printed in Russia' (small title-stamp) -- Paul M. Fekula. NICHOLAS II'S COPY, with his bookplate, earlier in the collection of Prince Lobanov-Rostovskii. Mirsky called The Temple of My Heart 'a good example of pure colloquial Russian, uncontaminated by foreign influence or literary fashion'.
