DOYLE, Arthur Conan (1859–1930). Autograph letter signed (“A. Conan Doyle”), Abbey House, Westminster, London, October 11, 1926. One page, 8vo (254 x 197 mm), on Psychic Book Shop, Library & Museum stationary, printed below heading “Every psychic student should have his own library, however small.” (Folds visible, small tear to outer margin not affecting script). Framed and matted. Doyle writes to a potential client (“Mr. Clarke”) on meeting to discuss partnering by exhibiting his “prints” at the museum. The Psychic Bookshop and Museum was an establishment created by the author that was solely dedicated to spiritualism. Not only did it have a diverse inventory of psychic books for sale, it was also a fully operating museum that exhibited documentary material on spiritualism including the famous Cottingley fairy photographs and the “gloves” materialized in a wax solution, filled with plaster.
