To which is added a Perfect Narrative of the Treaty of Uxbridge in an. 1644, 2 parts in one, 1st edition, Oxford: Moses Pitt, 1681, engraved portrait frontispiece of King Charles I, title with engraved vignette of the Sheldonian Theatre, woodcut initials, five page advertisements at end, erratic pagination, occasional light damp stain to upper inner margin of few leaves, single worm hole & short trail to fore-edge blank margins of leaves of last half of volume, bookplate of Robert Mackenzie Marshall dated 1935 to front free endpaper (leaf repaired to upper outer corner), later front pastedown, contemporary calf, morocco reback preserving original gilt decorated spine, recent morocco title label, folio (Qty: 1) Wing D2492; ESTC R18097. "The hiatusses in the above collation gave rise to the conjecture that the licenser had curtailed this work, but on comparing the printed book with the original manuscript, this supposition was found to be erroneous." Cf. Lowndes. First published anonymously; later reissued under the name of Sir William Dugdale. Provenance: The Library of Colin and Joan Deacon.
