EDWINSON GREEN & SONS A 12-BORE 1912 PATENT DOUBLE-TRIGGER OVER AND UNDER SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 6867, for 1913, 29in. nitro reproved barrels with bead sight and no top-rib, engraved 'EDWINSON GREEN & SONS. MAKERS. CHELTENHAM & GLOUCESTER.' and gold-inlaid '1' at the breech end in an acanthus cartouche, wooden side-fillets, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and imp. cyl. choke, E.C. Green quadruple-grip over and under action, incorporating patent numbers 8225 and 14951 of 1912, hold-open toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, bold acanthus scroll engraving on a matted background, retaining slight traces of colour-hardening and much renewed finish, 15 3/8in. well-figured replacement stock, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release catch gold-inlaid '1', weight 6lb. 9oz., in a brass-cornered oak and leather case Provenance: The gun was ordered in 1913 as a 12-bore DT ejector, 29in. barrels at a cost of 80 guineas plus a part exchange
