A turquoise blue-glazed composition amulet of the goddess Bastet, standing, wearing the Aegis, and a highly decorated collar; pierced lug to rear. Faience, 4.25 grams, 45 mm. Very fine condition, with fine metallic glaze. Provenance From the Foxwell family collection; Mr H G and Miss E Foxwell purchased their collection from the late 1890’s until the early 1920’s, acquiring from the Forman collection (sold by Sotheby's in 1900) and the Mc Gregor Collection (sold by Sotheby's in 1922) and the Clements collection in 1923 and thence by descent.
